I had some leftover curly maple and some interesting, patterned walnut. I decided to make a keepsake chest. I wanted all the parts to be made out of wood or at least covered by wood including the hidden wood hinge, clasp, and the lid support. I also wanted it to be lockable and for the key to be hidden.
For the tray I used hard maple and walnut from The Hardwood Edge https://thehardwoodedge.com
