Butter Horns (Dinner Rolls)
1 cup of milk almost boiling
8 tablespoons of unsalted butter for the dough
1/2 cup of sugar or less if you like (I suggest you use most of it)
15 - 5 and 1/2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
1/4 cup of unsalted butter for brushing
Dissolve the butter in the mild and add the eggs and sugar. Next the flour. Use a stand mixer or food processor as shown in the video. Bring the dough together but put the flour in a bit at a time. If the dough is sticky but not too wet, it is great.
once worked well, remove to the bench with flour dusted lightly. Kneed a few minutes. Put back in the bowl and cover for 1 hour or until double in size.
Divide the dough into three equal parts and roll out each piece to about 15 inches. Cut into quarters as shown and divide each quarter into 3. Brush with butter and roll up like a crescent. Place all of the rolls onto two sheet pans (18 on each pan). Bake in a 400℉ oven for 10 minutes and turn down to 350℉. for another 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
Serve with your dinner and enjoy! These are a make again roll. Not as hard as I thought. You can make the in any shape if you do not want to take the time to make them this cute!
