In this clip from The Collection with KISS frontman Paul Stanley, Mark Agnesi takes a look at a striking 1967 Gibson EDS-1275 Doubleneck in a rare Sunburst finish. This is no ordinary guitar—it was once part of Paul’s original collection, sold, and years later returned to him under some very interesting circumstances. When Paul got it back, he sent a photo to his friend Jimmy Page, who simply said, “It’s back where it belongs.”

This guitar is filled with standout details, from the incredible-feeling necks—especially the 12-string—to the ultra-rare double stinger headstocks. Paul reveals he used it to record “King of the Nighttime World” on Destroyer, using the top, 12-string neck in an open tuning for added resonant ring. If you’re a KISS fan, you’ve heard this guitar.
