Hi there, thanks for watching! In this video I go over how to create an old-school timestretch effect on the Sonicware Lofi 12XT. Similar to Elektron grooveboxes, you can create this effect using a low frequency oscillator (saw wave) which modulates the sample start time. By filling the sequencer with note triggers, the playhead will move through the sample at a rate that is independent of pitch.
Note: this is different than BPM syncing, which is a convenient way to have samples of different tempos/lengths play in time. Instead this effect has a unique and distinctive sound that can give your samples some old-school timestretch-y character.
