What do we need to do to ensure a future for our town and city centres? Where are the successful initiatives and partnerships? See how independent community-led organisations are working with local authorities to bring life back to our high streets.
Our final talk in the series, 'Bangor: Arts-based regeneration in a seaside town' looks at how Open House Festival, a small independent arts charity, has created its own arts venue in a converted Court House in Bangor, a struggling seaside town in Northern Ireland. Alison talks about festivals and events as powerful tools for placemaking, and how regeneration can start with ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Notes on the speaker:
Alison Gordon is Development Director and Co-founder of Open House Festival and Bangor Court House. She is a Bangor native but studied and worked in England for many years before returning home to start the festival.
