Working on a KLR650. It was running and then died after a crash in 2017. Hasn’t run since. I cleaned the carburetor and put fresh gas in it and still could not get it to run. With starting fluid all I would get are intake backfires. When you have a backfire out of the intake it is usually a timing issue as the intake valves are closed making it impossible to backfire that direction. Let me know if you have any questions!
