A minute of serenity (ASMR) by my campfire. Comfortable hammock in the background. Burning Douglas Fir, lump charcoal and some dimensional lumber waste. In most provincial park campgrounds you are obligated to use the provided fire pit and maintain a moderate fire size, generally they have a heavy duty grate welded to the top of one half of the cylinder. I always have a trowel in the truck so I can excavate around any lower venting on the pit as they are oftentimes full of ash and mud etc, it increases airflow and makes a much more efficient fire.
