Target Audience
This activity is directed at physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and social workers.
Statement of Need
As congenital heart disease often is underrepresented in standard medical and nursing curricula, there is a pressing need for health care providers to be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to care for patients with the
condition as they transition into adulthood. This symposium aims to address this gap by providing specialized education and training to ensure that adult congenital heart disease patients receive the appropriate and comprehensive care they require.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to:
Identify basic anatomy of certain types of complex congenital heart disease.
Describe unique challenges of device implantation in this population.
