"Gemstones are either diamonds or colored stones." All of them are rare.
When identifying gemstones, the Photo Atlas of Gemstone Inclusions is always cited. Published in 1979 by Edward J. Gübelin of Switzerland (second edition published in 1997).
This is a work by Edward J. Gübelin and GIA senior gemologist John Koivula. The first photos are all inclusions, which are gas and mineral deposits mixed into the gemstone. By observing such inclusions under a microscope, you can definitely determine whether they are real gemstones or "semi-precious stones."
「宝石はダイヤモンドか色のついた石のどちらかです。」どちらも希少価値があります。
宝石の鑑定には、必ず宝石の含有物（インクルージョン）のフォトアトラスが引用されます。1979年にスイスのエドワード・ギュブランが刊行（1997年に第２版が刊行）。
これはエドワード・ギュブランとGIAの上級宝石学者ジョン・コイヴラの著作です。最初に出てくる写真はガスや鉱物の堆積物が宝石の中へ紛れ込んだ含有物（インクルージョン）ばかりです。顕微鏡下でこのような含有物を観察すれば、間違いなく本物の宝石か”準宝石”か判定できます。
