Militärmusik vor dem Hamburger Rathaus - Bundeswehr Appell mit Nationalhymne und Preußens Gloria

🇩🇪 Zum Abschluss des Beförderungsappells der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität - Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg, bringen die einzelnen Fachbereiche ihren Schlachtruf aus, das Musikkorps spielt zuerst die Hammonia, die (inoffizielle) Landeshymne Hamburgs und danach die Nationalhymne der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

Danach marschiert, im strömenden Regen, die Ehrenformation mit der Truppenfahne vom Appellplatz, dem Rathausmarkt der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg. Dabei erklingt Musikdirektor Johann Gottfried Piefkes Meisterwerk Preußens Gloria.

Es spielt das Heeresmusikkorps Neubrandenburg, das durch Musiker des Marinemusikkorps Kiel verstärkt wurden.

Gestatten Sie mir zwei persönliche Anmerkungen:
das war der erste jemals ausgetragene Beförderungsappell der Universität der Bundeswehr in Hamburg, der auf dem Rathausmarkt abgehalten wurde. Großartige Veranstaltung. Danke an die Pressestelle des Senats für die Akkreditierung und Betreuung.
beim Platzregen während des Appellendes verabschiedete sich mein Audiorecorder in den ewigen Schlaf. Das war dann für mich der teuerste Appell aller Zeiten.

🇬🇧 At the end of the promotion ceremony at Helmut Schmidt University – University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg, the individual departments shout their battle cry, and the military band first plays Hammonia, the (unofficial) anthem of Hamburg, followed by the national anthem of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Then, in the pouring rain, the honor guard marches with the troop flag from the parade ground, the Rathausmarkt of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Music director Johann Gottfried Piefke's masterpiece Preußens Gloria is played.

It is performed by the Neubrandenburg Army Music Corps, reinforced by musicians from the Kiel Navy Music Corps.

Allow me to make two personal remarks:
This was the first ever promotion ceremony held by the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg, which took place on the Rathausmarkt. A magnificent event. Thank you to the Senate Press Office for the accreditation and support.
During the downpour at the end of the ceremony, my audio recorder gave up the ghost. For me, this was the most expensive ceremony ever.
