Travel Day Sep 2021 | Manchester to Salou Spain | H10 Salauris Palace

Hi everyone! It’s #travelday

We are very excited to share our first travel series with you starting with our travel day vlog. In this week's video we make our way from Manchester to Barcelona for an overnight stay before making our way to our final destination #Salou. Sounds pretty straight forward but ... that would be too easy!

In this video we share our flight journey to Barcelona and a brief room tour of the hotel Gran Via. We had breakfast at Waffle Barcelona and made our way to our hotel in Salou the H10 Salauris Palace where we do a full room tour of the Junior Suite.

So as I was saying our adventure to get to Salou wasn't so straight forward:

Our train to Port Aventura was cancelled, a taxi would cost 170 euros so we had to look for an alternate route. We spoke with a member of staff who told us to get a train to Flix, looking at the route we could see it went through Tarragona and Vila Seca both close enough for us to get to Salou.

BUT at a stop way before these places a voice spoke over the tannoy in Spanish and I heard the word 'autobus'. I thought that can't be good. Finally the English translation came and yes, we needed to get a replacement bus!

We were starting to wonder if this journey would ever end and if we would ever make it to Salou! We waited in this desolate place waiting for a bus, told the first one did not go where we wanted. The next one that came in we were told (finally) would take us where we wanted to go so we put our cases on.

That's the end right? Nope! The bus nearly went without us and we were nearly stranded without our cases! Would this nightmare ever end? YES we managed to squeeze our way onto the bus and off we went to Tarragona. We decided to get a taxi from this point we had travelled long enough with this uncertainty.

When we arrived at the hotel we were blown away, H10 Salauris Palace is by far the best hotel we have stayed in and we can't recommend the junior suite enough.

It's now something we look back on and laugh, how could so much go wrong so quickly? But we made it and oh my, we are so happy we chose to come to Salou!
