Today we fix a paver patio that really needed it. This patio had sunk over a period of 20 years. It was noticeable at the foundation and especially noticeable at the edge of the patio where the edge restraint was well above the patio. Around the posts for the deck, pavers had also sunk significantly as the ground around these posts settle over time.
We begin by lifting the pavers and placing them away from the patio. We then scrape out the bedding layer that is contaminated with organic materials and dispose of it. The existing base is then compacted and a new bedding material is brought in, re-screeded, and the pavers are laid. We then pressure wash the pavers to bring them back to their original color, install the polymeric sand, and fix the edge restraint around the patio.
