#迷列車で行こう海外編 では蒸気機関車はいつも外から眺めるだけ。
けれども今回はゆっくり歌激団が全員で乗車してみます。
でも普通の列車じゃつまらない。
なので今回は、イギリス唯一のラック式鉄道を特集します。
その名もスノードン登山鉄道。西部のウェールズにある、自然豊かな国立公園の中を走る鉄道です。
春から秋までの観光シーズンにしか走らず、予約が必須なほど高い人気を誇ります。

ディーゼル機関車による列車が主流ですが、今回はさらに希少な蒸気機関車に乗って山を登ります！予約が難しいと言われる蒸気機関車のチケットを手に入れ、ロンドンから日帰りで挑戦しました！
ロンドンからスノードン登山鉄道までも長い旅。特急列車、非電化のローカル線、そして地元のバスを乗り継いでようやくたどり着きます。そして、歴史ある蒸気機関車で1時間の登山がスタートです！
(案の定Tちゃんがビビりまくる)意外なスリルと、100年以上前の車両とは思えない迫力のある音を楽しみながら、山を登っていきます。

We documented our long journey from London to the Snowdon Mountain Railway, hopping on express trains and local buses. And then, our one-hour mountain ascent began on the historic steam engine train that has been running since 1896! Enjoy the unexpected thrill and powerful sounds of a train that's over a century old as we climb the mountain.
