Anakeesta is an award-winning mountaintop adventure park located above, and in the heart of, downtown Gatlinburg Tennessee. Our nature immersive park offers an authentic Smoky Mountain experience for families of all ages. Anakeesta literally means “the place of high ground” in the Cherokee language. Anakeesta is situated on a 70-acre mountain 600’ above the city of Gatlinburg Tennessee.

Gatlinburg is the gateway city to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As the most visited National Park in the United States the area sees up to 14 million visitors annually. Travelers from around the world enjoy the hiking, attractions, restaurants, shopping and entertainment that can be found in our area.

The promise of Anakeesta is to create a unique, authentic outdoor family experience by immersing guests of all ages in the beauty and adventure of the Great Smoky Mountains. By providing diverse offerings and quality craftsmanship we will instill a sense of appreciation and wonder for the Magic That’s in the Mountains.

The journey to Anakeesta begins with a scenic Chondola (chairlift) ride from the busy Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg Tennessee to the summit of Anakeesta Mountain. Here guests enter a world of whimsy and discover treetop adventures, a lush botanical garden, shopping and dining all amongst the backdrop of the sweeping views of the great smoky mountain national park.

Featured activities include the Treetop Skywalk with hanging bridges spanning 880’ more than 50’ above the forest floor and AnaVista Tower, downtown’s highest point offering 360-degree views. Adventure seekers love the Dueling Zipline tour and Rail Runner mountain coaster along with netted play areas including the treehouse themed TreeVenture Challenge course. The Memorial Forest Walk and immersive Vista Gardens provide informative and relaxing spaces with views of the great smoky mountains!

Anakeesta also offers a variety of dining choices. Enjoy an elevated experience with views of Mt. LeConte at Cliff Top or slow-smoked southern barbeque at the Smokehouse. Craft beers and specialty cocktails can be found at our full-service bars with indoor or outdoor seating. Gather around one of our three firepits with friends to enjoy a sunset or count the stars at Firefly Village, Black Bear Village or atop Vista Plaza.
