This installment begins with forging the second tang on this handmade caplock muzzleloader (I jacked-up the first one in the previous video) and moves on to the tedious work of grinding and file work to get it into shape. After the screw eyes are justified, I shape the tang, cold and hot, to the profile of the wrist and comb.
I begin the inletting stage by modifying an existing hand tool for wood chisel carving, and to accommodate the narrowness of the forging. After that, the fun begins with Inletting Black, and a lot of patience. You may see a Dremel in use but it is applied sparingly to inlet the screw eyes.
I'm still trying to figure out making videos as well as the things that YouTube throws at me.
