From my travels to Long Island this fall — here’s a glimpse into the Lighthouse Handpan Gathering, a beautiful weekend of music, connection, and creativity. Hosted in Centerport, NY, this event brought together an amazing group of players, builders, and teachers for three days of sound and community.

Workshops, open jams, nature walks, and concerts filled the weekend — all centered around the handpan and the people who love it.

You’ll see moments from the open mic, the builder expo, and some quiet jams in between.
It was an honor to be part of it and to share music alongside friends like Dan Mulqueen, Katerina Babaytseva, Marina Sobol, Misha Love, and Rafael D’Arco — as well as so many others who make this gathering feel like family.

Held October 24–26 in Centerport, NY, at the Sound Artist Handpan & Creative Music School — it’s one of those gatherings that leaves you recharged and reminded why we play.
