Traditional nomadic farming after the rain

Heavy rain began to fall over the Dura region, pouring down from the darkened sky onto the thirsty land. The steady drumming of raindrops on the roofs and soft soil blended with the chill in the air. Akram, who lives with her children on their small farm, knew that with the start of the rain, their daily tasks would multiply; yet this extra effort was the price of a blessing the land was receiving. Amid the downpour, they worked tirelessly. They fed the animals, tended the shelters, and carefully covered the water tanks to protect them from damage. Their clothes were soaked and the cold crept into their bones, but none of them stopped working. In the midst of the rain, the farm seemed more alive than ever. When the work finally slowed, Akram went inside and served her children a warm meal. Steam rose from the food, filling the cold space with comfort and warmth. The children gathered together and ate quietly, while the sound of the rain continued in the background of their lives. Despite the heavy workload and exhaustion, their hearts were full of gratitude. Akram and her children continually thanked God for the rain—a merciful downpour that, although it increased their labor, also promised life, hope, and a future for their farm.
