The Woods Band was an Irish folk-rock band initially formed in 1970 by Terry and Gay Woods after they left Steeleye Span. In 2001 Terry formed a new band which recorded and performed until 2003. This track 'Leave Her Johnny Leave Her' was in their 2003 album 'Music From The Four Corners of Hell'. It is a cover of an old,but famous, sea shanty. Sea shanties were work songs commonly used to accompany work on board large sailing vessels.This video presentation is for educational purposes and social commentary only.
