We’re discussing the second of the four guiding principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
The UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act came into effect on 16 July, marking a significant milestone in Scotland’s ambition to be the best place in the world to grow up - where children and young people are loved, safe, valued, respected, and supported to reach their full potential.
This legislation is a cause for celebration for Scotland’s babies, children, young people, and families - and we’re excited to explore what it means in practice.
