How to Cut Your Hair at Home – The Tousled Cut | Wahl

The “Tousled Cut” is a cool and classic haircut. It’s easy to do and requires little upkeep. It’s perfect if you want to keep your hair a little longer. This video will show you how to do it yourself or how to cut someone else’s hair at home.

• Spray bottle with water
• Optional: Hair comb

Step 1: Dampen your hair with the spray bottle. Comb your hair down so it is lying straight.

Step 2: Use the #3 guide comb and start cutting away the hair in front of the ears. Work your way around the back of the head to the neckline. Use an upward rocking motion for an even cut.

Step 3: Once you have finished the sides, focus on the top of the head where the hair is longest. For a longer cut on top, use a comb or your fingers as guides. This makes sure the hair remains long and the cut is consistent.

Using your fingers or a comb as a guide will allow you to keep the hair longer on top than a specific guide comb might.

Step 4: Change to the #5 guide comb to blend out the sides and top. Use an upward rocking motion.

Step 5: For final details, use the left and right guide combs to clean around the ears. Then, remove the guide comb. Use the inverted clipper technique to clean around the neckline.
