When you think about typical teenagers, what’s important to them are their peers. This a point in a young child’s life where they are getting ready to move away from family more, and socially it’s very important for them to be with their peer group. For someone with a spinal cord injury who is an adolescent, socially being with their peers is equally, if not more so, important. To be able to go out, hang out with your peers, be involved in activities and socially participate with a peer group as you would if you didn’t have a spinal cord injury is very important.
