씻김 (Ssitkim, The Shaman)

무당 박미옥은 명인 박병천의 딸이다.
박병천은 국가무형문화재 보유자로, 세습무 명가 출신이다. 대금 명인이었던 그의 조부가 일제 강점기 시절 타계하자 천한 신분이지만 진도군장(珍島郡葬)으로 장례를 치렀을 정도로, 진도의 당골과 악공 단체인 신청의 계보는 그의 집안 위주로 만들어졌다.
박미옥은 박병천 타계 이후 진도씻김굿을 전수받아 전통적인 연행을 고집하고 있다.

The shaman Park Miok is the daughter of the master Park Byeongcheon. The late Park Byeongcheon held an official National Cultural Heritage title. He came from a long line of hereditary shaman families. When his grandfather, also a master of Daegeum, a traditional flute, passed away during the Japanese occupation, the Jindo municipality accorded him a county funeral despite his humble origin. Hence, the entire lineage of Shincheong, a joint union of Jindo Dangol (shamans) and musicians, has been centered around his family.
Since Park Byeongcheon's passing, Park Miok has inherited the Jindo Ssitkimgut and insisted on preserving its traditional practices.
