Pilot deploys parachute to slow the descent of his light aircraft as it crashes

A pilot escaped with just light injuries by deploying a parachute to slow the descent of his plane as it crashed on a busy road in Belgium.

The light aircraft was captured plummeting nose down on video by shocked residents in Sint-Andries near Bruges.
