On July 22, 2025, in Jiangyou, Sichuan, a 14‑year‑old girl was lured by several underage classmates to an abandoned building under threats. She was beaten and humiliated for hours, and her phone was stolen and wiped clean. Her father is illiterate and disabled, her mother is hearing‑impaired, and the family’s vulnerable situation drew widespread public sympathy.


8月2日晚，霸凌過程的視頻在網絡瘋傳，畫面殘忍，施暴者毫無悔意，引發全國公憤。江油警方8月4日通報，僅對兩名年齡14、15歲的施暴者給予行政拘留與矯治教育，其餘人僅受批評教育，被廣泛質疑「避重就輕」。

On the evening of August 2, a video of the bullying went viral online. The footage was brutal, and the perpetrators showed no remorse, sparking nationwide outrage. On August 4, Jiangyou police issued a report, giving only administrative detention and juvenile correction to the 14‑ and 15‑year‑old attackers, while the others received mere warnings—widely criticized as downplaying the crime.


受害者家屬前往市政府維權，母親情緒激動暈倒，大量市民自發聚集聲援，高喊「還我民主」「拒絕霸凌」。隨後數千群眾在市政府前集會，並爆發與保安、警察的衝突，出現「防暴車清場」「老百姓被拖走」「警察打人」等場景。

The victim’s family went to the city hall to demand justice, where the mother fainted from grief. Large crowds of citizens gathered in support, chanting “Return our democracy!” and “Say no to bullying!” Thousands assembled in front of the city hall, clashing with security and police.
