Afghanistan: Islamic State Conducts Suicide Bomb Attack At Taliban Refugee Ministry Office in Kabul

Taliban refugee minister Khalil Ur-Rahman Haqqani was killed in a suicide bombing in Kabul. The blast, claimed by Islamic State, was reported at the refugee ministry’s office. Taliban has blocked the roads leading to the refugee ministry’s office and has deployed security personnel outside the office. Deceased minister Haqqani was on the US and UN’s sanctions list. He was a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" and had a $5 million bounty on his head, placed by the US. He was also the brother of Haqqani Network founder Jalaluddin Haqqani. The group staged some of the most violent attacks in Afghanistan during the Taliban's two-decade-long insurgency. Taliban government condemned the “cowardly attack" calling the minister a “great fighter”.
