Elizabeth Olsen Opens Up About the Special Bond She Shares with Sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
Elizabeth Olsen, best known for her role as Wanda Maximoff in WandaVision, recently opened up about her deep admiration for her famous older sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. In a heartfelt conversation on the March 25 episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, Elizabeth offered rare insights into her family dynamic and the respect she holds for the unique relationship between her twin sisters.
“I’m one of six,” Elizabeth, 36, shared. “I loved it, especially being the baby. I really enjoyed it.” As the youngest sibling in a large, close-knit family, Elizabeth expressed genuine appreciation for the love and care she received growing up, especially from Mary-Kate and Ashley, who gained fame in early childhood as stars of Full House.
Though the twin sisters share a bond that could be intimidating to some siblings, Elizabeth emphasized that she doesn’t feel left out or competitive—instead, she finds their connection inspiring. “I also really admire the partnership that [Mary-Kate and Ashley] have and don’t compete with it,” she said during the interview with Jenna Bush Hager and her twin sister, guest co-host Barbara Bush. “It’s something different. It’s a really interesting thing to watch. I admire it.” She added thoughtfully, “It’s a different kind of connection.”
Elizabeth has previously spoken about the perks of being the youngest in a family where two members were already global icons. In a 2022 interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, she recalled, “It’s an amazing feeling, being the younger sibling to twins. If I was spoiled by one, the other one wanted to match it.”
Despite the fame that surrounds the Olsen name, all three sisters have carved out their own unique paths. While Elizabeth pursued acting and achieved critical acclaim through projects like Martha Marcy May Marlene, WandaVision, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Mary-Kate and Ashley transitioned from child stardom to the world of high fashion.
