In this video, Candy explains that choosing the size of your girth is important for the stability of treeless saddles. The best position is for the end of your girth or cinch is to come just above the horse's elbow. The shorter the girth, the more stable the saddle!
(In the video, Candy demonstrates this with a dressage girth, however, a cinch would end in the same location for the best fit.)
