Presenter: Lance Wyss, restoration ecologist with the Rogue River Watershed Council
The Rogue River Watershed Council implements ecological restoration projects on private and public land in multiple sub-basins identified from strategic planning. Riparian rehabilitation is one of the process-based restoration actions used to assist the recovery of a degraded ecosystem. The strategy relies on using passive and active restorative methods. Creating positive responses will allow the native plant communities to out-compete noxious weeds, reclaim natural recruitment of native species, and build resiliency to the disturbance regime of river processes.
