In this episode, we will show you another bend called the Blood Knot. It is one of the best bends to join two ropes, and is commonly used in fly fishing. It works best with similar diameter ropes.
Here is how to tie the Blood Knot:
Step #1. Overlap the two lines
Step #2. Twist one line around the other, with a minimum of 4 turns
Step #3. Bring the working end back between the two lines
Step #4. And repeat the process with the second line
Step #5. Pull both ends slowly to tighten the knot
The Blood Knot is one of the best bends for joining thin slippery line and can retain 80% of it’s strength. However, it is likely to jam.
