Meet Emily Farrell, a Nursing major, and Ian Lubenow, a Mechanical Engineering student, as they share how York College became their home away from home.

Emily was introduced to York College by her mom, and after seeing the simulation labs, student-to-professor ratio, and the welcoming campus environment, she knew it was the right fit. Though she was initially scared to leave home, she now reflects on how hard it will be to say goodbye to her best friends and the York College community she loves. Getting involved changed everything for her, starting with joining a sorority. She believes York College gave her the opportunity to become the best version of herself.

Ian chose York College because it was the perfect distance from his hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania. He appreciated the affordability of the school and strength of the Mechanical Engineering program. Ian emphasizes how easy York College makes getting involved through our Involvement Fair, where everyone is looking to meet new people during those crucial first weeks on campus.
