This time we present Danish Music Award winner (best musician) pianist Rasmus Sørensen.

The 27-year-old pianist Rasmus Sørensen from Northern Jutland has in recent years gained international recognition for his innovative yet accessible sound as both a musician and composer. After taking part in a wide range of projects both in Denmark and abroad, Rasmus released his highly praised debut album Traits in 2022, followed by his sophomore album Balancing Act in March 2024, featuring the two American jazz musicians Kendrick Scott and Alex Claffy. On November 15th, Rasmus' latest release At The Right Time was launched.

In New York, where he lived for five years before leaving in 2023, Rasmus was one of the city's most sought-after jazz pianists and performed with his trio at some of the most well-known jazz clubs, including The Jazz Gallery and 55 Bar. He has also performed his music in the Netherlands, England, Switzerland, Germany, France, Norway, and Sweden, and has toured with other bands in Italy, Canada, Russia, Finland, and more.

In 2023/24, he participated in several projects and concerts with the DR Big Band and is currently active with, among others, Mathias Heise, Sasha Berliner, as well as the rising Finnish double bassist and composer Kaisa Mäensivu.
