Why Brussels Looks Weird

The capital of Belgium has a long history of grand projects and big changes. Before it was one of the capitals of the European Union, it underwent a dramatic reconstruction. Part of it tied to a brutal colonial empire.

After the 50s, Brussels saw the arrival of European officials and a noticeable demographic change leading to the term 'Brusselization.'

Its history and the people behind it have transformed the city leaving parts of it with a distinct look.
