Today we tested two of the smallest outboard jets available. We used a Solar 420 and Projet 430. Both boats were similar speed and could get about 26-27 km/hr on the river without current. The motors weigh about 100 lbs. The biggest difference we noticed with these jets is the time to get on step which does take a bit longer. You cannot do a 180 degree turn and stay on step unless it is very wide. Once on step they run pretty good and can handle skinny water, faster chutes, and maneuver nicely. Two people would max out the jet or one person and gear.
