Look Jet Machinery make nice gear very strong and robust...but they seem to miss so many of the finer points at times like this....how the hell did any one from Jet think that some one can lift and adjust the table benchtop with out injurying your back....I mean the idiot bean counters must have said to the designers we have to cut cost so let's get rid of a cranking method to raise and lower the table easily it only weigh 25-30 kgs....Spare me guys I am convinced nobody from Jet has used one of these, if they did they would a have done in the same principle as I had it's not rocket science !!! Even a simple rack and pinion with a little wheel would be fabulous....good thing I am a thinker so here is my very inexpensive hack to raise and lower with ease and I am not an engineer. And excerpt from their sales pitch : "Cast iron table moves up or down to provide exact workpiece positioning".......except they haven't how to do that easy.
