About the video :
The Kazakh Air Defence Forces are a major branch of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, responsible for protecting the country’s airspace, providing air support to ground forces, and maintaining integrated air-defense capabilities. Established after Kazakhstan gained independence in 1992, they inherited much of their structure and equipment from the former Soviet Air Defence Forces.
Headquartered in Astana, the Kazakh Air Defence Forces operate from several key airbases, including Taldykorgan, Karaganda, Shymkent, and Aktobe. Their aviation component includes MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters, Su-30SM multirole fighters, Su-25 attack aircraft, and a large fleet of transport aircraft and Mil helicopters. A defining feature of Kazakhstan’s air power is its strong ground-based air-defense network, which includes S-300 surface-to-air missile systems, modern radar stations, and command-and-control units.
Today, the Kazakh Air Defence Forces play a crucial role in territorial air security, border defense, and regional stability in Central Asia, while continuing gradual modernization and close cooperation with regional partners.
