Lily Sanders speaks with Gloria Masters, a CSA and Sex Trafficking survivor on her podcast, Beyond The Current Situation.
Lily notes this episode as the most painful conversation she ever had on her podcast, with another telling their story. Gloria Masters' experiences epitomizes some of the darkest forms of dehumanization by the hands of her own father, brother, and grandmother. As she tells of her story, it just kept getting uglier. Miraculously, she was able to escape and leave behind 16 years of unfathomable abuse. But there was decades of healing to be had.
Today, Gloria is a light for others who says if she had a hand signal to use, she would have been saved. Now, Gloria is woman behind the global hand signal for under 16’s just released in June 2023, to resource and protect them from abuse. She is also the founder of Handing the Shame Back foundation, a charity dedicated to adult survivors of child sexual abuse.
