Liam's Tiny Guitar pt 8 | RATTLECAN GUITAR RESTORATIONS by James O’Rear

In this episode of Liam's Tiny Guitar pt 8 we prep the body by giving it a light sanding with 220 grit sandpaper, blowthe sawdust off with compressed air, then use a tack cloth to remove any small dust particles. The grain is popped using a lightly moist cloth to raise the grain then give it a final sanding.

A base coat of black is applied using TransTint black dye using denatured alcohol as a carrier with two coast applied. It is then sanded down on the front and back in a roughly teardrop shape to expose the mahogany grain. The color coat of Angelus leather dye is used straight from the bottle.
