LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, BOYS AND GIRLS! For the very first time on Zoo Tours, we are finally joining the World’s Most Magical Celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort. As much as I would love to present every aspect of every park, it does without saying that our hearts are set on Disney’s Animal Kingdom. 580 acres of balance, harmony, and wonder - real, ancient and imagined! There’s so much we could do to grow for our appreciation for wildlife, but today, I will be taking you on a journey through one of the park’s more peaceful attractions. The Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail opened with the rest of the kingdom in 1998. An African forest exhibit that goes above and beyond anything we’ve seen before. As a Disney park, every corner is designed with a greater purpose, there are twists, surprises, and a well told story. The Gorilla Falls is no exception… Colobus monkeys have taken over the rehabilitation center, you’ll find and study tools used by Dr. Kulunda and their research students to document wild animal behaviors, discovery color combinations you didn’t think we possible in nature inside the aviary, listen to hippos underwater at the Safi River, and learn all of the ways Gorillas live and work together as a family.
