Its name means “the killer of elephants,” and it is feared for its immense strength and territorial aggression.
Witnesses describe a powerful, semi-aquatic beast capable of overturning canoes and driving even elephants away from riverbanks.
Some believe Emela Ntouka may be a surviving prehistoric animal, while others consider it a spirit guardian of forbidden waters.
