On July 1, 1999, TDOT created the HELP Program with the purpose of reducing traffic congestion, improving safety, and assisting motorists in distress. Today, you see these bright yellow trucks patrolling the road in all four major cities across the state. 15 years later, more than two million motorists have been assisted by these dedicated men and women.
