Delivered on August 10, 1986, Manly Palmer Hall's talk, "Wealth Addiction can be as Dangerous as Drug Addiction", spoke to the problems of the day. At that time, the 1980s were called the 'decade of decadence' and materialism, greed and rampant drug abuse were almost accepted and normalized. As evidenced by his talks at that time, Hall was most concerned with where this was heading and it became the subject of many of his lectures. Of course, the advice he gives would work just as well in any other time period, especially the one we are in now.
