Every winter, a tiny bird arrives in the scrub and forests around the Mukundara Hills.
The Red-breasted Flycatcher weighs barely 10 grams ... lighter than a coin ... yet it crosses continents to find a quiet corner where it can survive the season.
This film follows that winter visitor through the landscapes of Mukundara, Rajasthan; from farmlands and grasslands shaped by tribal communities, to scrub forests that still offer shelter to migratory birds.
But while these birds continue to return, the land they depend on is changing.
Recent policy decisions, including the redefinition of the Aravalli range, threaten to strip protection from vast stretches of ancient hills, scrub, and grassland ecosystems ... landscapes older than human civilisation itself.
Mukundara is not just a forest.
It is a home ... for migratory birds, resident wildlife, and the Adivasi and tribal communities who have lived with this land for centuries.
This film is a quiet observation, a personal ritual, and a reminder:
the fight for jal, jungle, zameen is not just a tribal struggle ... it is a fight for all of us, and for every small life that still trusts this land enough to return.
