Everything is a Lot: A Deep Dive

At last, we end at the beginning.

The debut album by New Jersey rock band Will Wood and the Tapeworms is a manic thrill ride through seedy bars, psychedelic landscapes, and human existence. Far from a warm up, they hit the ground running with banger after banger. There are a few quirks that set it apart from its successors, but they only serve to make the album all the more fascinating. In this video, we aim to pick apart the lyrics and instrumentation of each track, in search of deeper meaning.

I say this after a lot of my projects, but this was my biggest video yet. The most collaborators, the most original material, and honestly, the most effort. Jury’s out on whether it’s my best, but I’m glad that it’s out, regardless. I hope you’ve enjoyed this journey over the last two years, and with luck, we’ll all meet again.

First of all, failed a spot check in the final credits (but got them in the opening ones) - Janet (janetarttrove) made the thumbnail! I sent some basic concepts over, but I was blown away by how close it was to the art style. While I did my fair share of tracks, GeminiEntropic and praisedrays masterminded a huge chunk of this video’s soundtrack. In fact, without them stepping up to bat, I would’ve never been inspired to make a soundtrack in the first place!
