The second part reflected on the similarities between today’s AI driven Industrial Revolution and the very first industrial revolution of the 18th century. This revolution arose from a new technology (steam) destroying the livelihoods of craft workers, leading to serious civil unrest, imprisonment and executions of those destroying the machines responsible. This revolution happened over a period of years whereas the AI revolution timescales are based on months rather than years.
