The Film makers had full co - operation with British Railways Scottish Region to use the actual Forth Bridge. An A4 Pacific on s rake of Maroon Mk 1 Coaches ( used for the Edinburgh - Aberdeen services ) was run a number of times onto the Bridge with a flat wagon on the back used by the film crew to film the back projection scenes where Kenneth More Hangs onto the side of the Train. Back Projection also appears where Kenneth More is clinging onto the Girders of the Forth Bridge after he had made his escape, although he does use the actual inspection hatch between the Tracks. The A1 Pacific’s you see in this scene are 60147 and 60162 and the A4 Pacific is 60027.
