A true classic for anyone who grew up in the early 2000s, Hot Wheels Highway 35 was a massive year-long celebration of the 35th anniversary of Hot Wheels. Highway 35 began as a movie feature on Cartoon Network accompanied by a special edition series of Hot Wheels vehicles that could be purchased at retail. Five episodes were produced before being edited into a single two hour long movie. Its popularity spawned a series of four sequel films titled "AcceleRacers" and the spin-off series "Hot Wheels Battle Force 5". The original movies were produced by Mattel themselves and animated by Mainframe Entertainment, now known as Mainframe Studios, who were best known for animating "Reboot". Starlight Runner Entertainment created the characters and art assets to assist in production. The animation studio Mainframe Entertainment would go on to animate many other projects including all of the Barbie films for Mattel as well as the animated Ratchet & Clank film.
