‘You Got a Hold of My Heart’ is from Chris Youlden’s underrated Line Records album ‘Second Sight’ (1994).
This is not a Savoy Brown album in any sense, and as you listen you can hear aural similarities to Donald Fagen’s (Steely Dan) ‘The Nightfly.’ ‘Second Sight’ was also issued on Ruf Records.

• Innes Sibun – Guitars
• John Baggott – Piano

British blues-rock singer, worked with Savoy Brown from 1967 to 1970. Chris was the legendary vocals & composer of Savoy Brown’s ‘Hard Way To Go’, ‘Made Up My Mind’, ‘Stay While the Night Is Young’, & ‘I’m Tired.’
Savoy Brown, originally known as the Savoy Brown Blues Band, are a British blues band formed in 1965, in Battersea, South West, London. Leader & guitarist Kim Simmonds is still continuing the Savoy Brown legacy.
Recent years have seen the re-release of those four seminal Savoy Brown albums (Getting To The Point, A Step Further, Blue Matter, and Raw Sienna), and many covers of Youlden’s songs by artists as diverse as Tommy Castro, Bettye Lavette, Charlie Musselwhite, Mel Tillis, Ricky Scaggs, Jimmy Witherspoon, Foghat, and David Lee Roth, among many others.
Key figure in these produced works of Chris Youlden & Savoy Brown has been the legendary Mike Vernon: British producer, engineer, musician, and music executive. Founder of the Blue Horizon label (distributed through CBS and Polydor) and key producer for numerous British blues artists and groups during the late 1960s - particularly Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac and John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers.
Savoy Brown’s ‘Raw Sienna’ was jointly produced by Kim Simmonds & Chris Youlden.
Vernon played in a few bands before starting his production career at Decca with several blues artists, moving on later from Blue Horizon to a very broad genre of artists. His work encompasses such diverse artists as Furry Lewis, Level 42, David Bowie and Rocky Sharpe & The Replays (In which he also ghosted as 'Eric Rondo'). Labels he is also associated with are Purdah, Outasite and the later Indigo Recordings and Code Blue, the latter distributed through Atlantic, reviving the works of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Soul artists - such as Jay Owens and Sherman Robertson.
Chris Youlden has recorded since Savoy brown solo albums, with the Big Picture & with The Slammers.’
