Birds of Prey (TV series) - Original broadcast theme vs. DVD/Streaming theme

When "Birds of Prey" aired on the WB in 2002-2003, the theme song for the show was "Revolution" by Aimee Allen. When the series was eventually released on DVD and made available to stream, the theme was changed to a song called "My Remedy" due to licensing issues or costs associated with the original song.

This change in theme is very drastic and alters the momentum going into each episode. The cold open usually ends on a moment of dramatic tension, and "Revolution" was a high-energy rock theme that served to catapult the viewer into the episode. "My Remedy," on the other hand, is a very slow, subdued, almost melancholy song that feels more like something out of "Dawson's Creek" than a superhero show.

Add to that the fact that the episodes tended to start the opening notes of the theme song over the last few seconds of the cold open (this clip is a great example of that), and it really just feels very strange and jarring to have such a dramatically different theme song in the streaming/DVD version.
