In this video, I drive Le Français Formidable (9Z22), a fictitious international railtour using the SNCF TGV Duplex between London St Pancras International and Ashford International. There are no intermediate stops along the way, and I cover the 51 miles in 29 minutes. I reach blisteringly fast speeds of up to 143mph (230km/h) along the way.
This is one of four scenarios where you can drive the TGV Duplex along High Speed 1 (HS1), also known as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL). The other scenarios are 9Z21, 9Z23 and 9Z24, which I hope to feature on my channel at some point in the future. However, this all depends on what you think: do you think these scenarios are interesting, or would you prefer that I stick to the more conventional scenarios involving conventional traction (e.g the 395)?
