00:00 Introduction
00:40 The Middlegame Position
02:23 The Opening Position
04:02 The Endgame Position
06:05 Positional Threat Behind the Opponent's Last Move
Chess is a ruthless game and you can lose any chess position if you miss the most fundamental question you must always ask yourself whenever your opponent makes a move. The question is "What would be their next move if I don't make a move right now?" This question should be internalized for us to grow as chess players. As a coach, I have seen several beautiful games lost because this fundamental step faltered at some moment during a game.
This was one of the reasons why I created this Chessable course released on the same day as this video was published. The course will test us in observing our opponent's last move and identifying all the tactical and positional threats we are facing as a result of that move. This will give us great information to shape our candidate moves. Moreover, in this course, you will train to actively search for the drawbacks behind the opponent's last move. This will give you a chance to identify mistakes, misconceptions, and blunders, and thus punish your opponents.
I put my heart and soul into this course, and I am very excited to see the effect of it on the students. I seriously believe this is the way you raise your floor in chess and stop giving away points needlessly.
